First Appeared in print : In Speedy Death in1929. Mrs Adela Bradley is a psychiatrist and consultant psychologist to the Home Office, with several degrees and her services are always in demand due to her sharp mind. She is an psychoanalytical sleuth (with the terrible laugh!). The novels were written between the late 1920s and the mid 1970s.
First radio appearance :About 1998 on BBC Radio 4.
Partner/Sidekick : George Moody, her chauffeur, played by Neil Dudgeon in the tv series, later to appear as Inspector Barnaby in ITV's Midsomer Murders.

Arch Enemies : Middle class nobility.
Setting/Location : London, the classic country house, and the classic haunted house.
Tv connections :Dame Diana Rigg(below) played Mrs Bradley in the BBC tv series. However, Rigg is more famous as Mrs Emma Peel in The Avengers tv series in the 1960s. See also The Avengers radio series from the early 1970s.
